I’m Tracey King, founder and director of King School of Music, and my history with American Guild of Music (AGM) has been quite an adventure! I began AGM participation with students in 1991, and joined the Board of Directors in 2002. My students have repeatedly won NAICs and All-Around Awards in Voice and Piano. My personal credentials include: Bachelor of Arts in Music (Cleveland State University/Spring Arbor University, 1980); Forty-six years of teaching privately (piano/vocal); and founder of King School of Music (30 years in 2020).
I have served as: Recording Secretary from 2002- 2010; Treasurer 2009-2014; Co-Secretary (communications) 2010-2016; and President from 2016 to 2019.
I have enjoyed presenting awards and watching the excited faces of young students as they proudly collect them! I have seen the confidence and joys that the AGM competition instills in my students. I also cherish the friendships made at competitions with fellow teachers and their students, and the lifelong friends I have made with other board members! I believe that AGM is a great experience for all!
